SHEAB

Society of Haitian Engineers & Architects of Boston
ABOUT SHEAB

There have been a few attempts over the years at regrouping Haitian architects and engineers in Boston. A huge step forward came last year with the formation of GRAHN New England Infrastructure Committee. Shortly thereafter, the group realized the need for more self-identity and a platform keener toward addressing the intrinsic issues affection their profession and their social responsibility toward the Haitian community. The opportunity came size months ago with the formation of "Le Congres des Ingenieurs, Architectes, Scientifiques et Technologues Haitiens (C.I.A.S.T.H.), a new umbrella entity grouping all the Haitian regional A/E organizations to advocate for the Haitian design professionals in the construction industry and to speak with one powerful voice. The founder of the organization, Luckner Bayas, contacted his colleagues Jacques Borges and Lionel Lucien who responded both enthusiastically to the appeal. They began to lay out the plan toward formation of the local chapter in Boston.
